Eddy Current Rods | |
Description: | Good class demo for showing the affect of a magnet sliding down different materials. |
Notes: | There are four rods of different materials (copper, aluminum, brass and plastic), each with a magnetic ring. Keep turning the apparatus upside down; the magnets will slide down each rod at different rates, inversely proportional to the conductivity. Note that this apparatus is similar to the Eddy Current Racing Rods. This apparatus is best suited for students to try themselves. The other is best as a class demo. |
Location: | LDL-D6. Manufacturers instructions are in the box. |
