  Horseshoe Magnet – Large
Description:

Large, strong (and very heavy!) horseshoe magnet.

Notes:

Strong magnet used for many demonstrations, such as the Jumping Wire and AC Current. Max field = 1.0 kG

Caution: This magnet is very heavy (48 lbs ≈ 22 kg), so exercise caution when lifting. Remember to bend at the knees!

Location:

LDL-D6. There is a 4×4 wood block nearby as well, useful when a wire needs to be supported between the poles.
