  Seasons
Description:

Demonstrate the cause of the Earth's seasons.
Notes: Use the orrery and a flashlight; an LED flashlight works very well since it has a bright, clearly focused beam. Shine flashlight perpendicular to board, then at an angle (at the same distance) showing that the light is spread out. Plug the orrery in, turn off classroom lights and show the position of Sun with respect to Earth over the course of the year.
Location:

NMSR. The orrery is on top of the file cabinet. Use the LED tripod light in Jeff's office.
