• Students will create a DC motor with a magnet, battery and copper wire.

  • Note #1: The spool of copper wire is attached to the end of the short bench near the blackboard. The clamp is left on the bench, but the wire spool is left with the rod and end clamp; see photos for details. Jeff will cut a double-arms length piece (about 2-meters) for each student before each lab.
  • Note #2: A neodymium magnet will be handed out to each student by the lab instructor before each lab. Don't leave these magnets sitting out on the benches!
