Mesopotamian Mathematics Bibliographies
The literature on Mesopotamian mathematics is very diverse.
Much has been published in Assyriological journals, some is in history
of mathematics journals and a great deal, including most of the text editions,
has appeared in scattered volumes. The purpse of this page is to
give some guidance on what has been published. There are several
useful bibliographical sources for those trying to navigate the literature.
Among the most important are
-
Friberg's annotated Survey
of 1982, and
-
the sections on Mesopotamian mathematics (also by Friberg) in Dauben's
Bibliography of 1985
-
and the revised
version on CD-ROM from 2000.
-
At this site, we have Eleanor Robson's selected, annotated bibliography,
and
-
an attempt at a more comprehensive bibliography.
Currently, this bibliography exists only as one large file. Hopefully,
as time permits, it will be split up into more useful pieces.
