Eddy Current Racing Rods | |
Description: | Good class demo for showing the affect of a magnet sliding down different materials. |
Notes: | There are two (white) magnetic rings. They will slide down each rod (aluminum, plastic, copper) at different rates, inversely proportional to the conductivity. Note that this apparatus is similar to the Eddy Current Rods. This apparatus is best suited as a class demo, and students can try it themsleves later. The other is best to hand around to students to try themselves. |
Location: | LDL-D6. Manufacturers instructions are in the box. |
Image: | Magnetic rings can slide down two of three rods at a time (L-R): aluminum, plastic, copper |
