The Field of an Electric Dipole
BlackBoard Notes
- Learn to use a multimeter as a voltmeter
- Map out the electric field around a pair of "charges"
- Orient conducting paper thusly:

- With this convention, the signs of Ex and Ey are the
signs on the voltmeter
.

- dx = dy = fixed, so Ex, Ey are proportional
to φ. Polarities have been chosen so voltmeter
reads correct signs for Ex, Ey.
