Computers Needed?

• Yes.

• Lab Setup (three setups in the lab; three setups in the hallway; see this page for photo details):
  • Note #1: This experiment is set up in Bewkes 231; signs need be posted in the hallway
  • Note #2: Use laptops for computers #3, #4, #5, and #6.
  • Note #3: Computers #4, #5 and #6 are moved out into the hall before each lab, then stored away at the end of the day
  • Note #4: Attach the sonic ranger to the right side of the cart for computers #4 and #6; these carts will sit on the left side of the hall. The ranger on cart #5 should be attached to the left side; it will sit on the right side of the hall.

• Sonic Ranger (w/clamp and rod):

  

  • There are two wires coming from the Sonic Ranger; make sure the wire with the yellow piece of tape on it is connected to the left (1) digital imput of the Science Workshop 500 Interface.

  ---

• Make sure that power is turned on to the 500 Interface before starting up DataStudio.
• Use the 9 pin to USB cables for the laptops (may not be true anymore!!).
