Training from Campus

Running Trails:

Cinder Trail

Loop starts behind Augsbury and goes around fields and along the Little River

Sandbanks

Starts just over the wooden bridge on Park Street headed south away from campus. Take a right by red barn and trail proceeds down to the Grasse River.

Golf Course

Across Park Street from Red Barn where the Sandbanks trail starts, Wachmeister Field Station is also located where this trailhead starts. This is an out and back trail that runs along the Little River behind the SLU Golf course (you can't see the golf course).

SUNY Canton

Take Riverside drive on the west end of downtown out about 1 mile and then take the foot bridges across the river. At the end of the footbridges there is a small shorter trail to your left but more extensive trails are accessed by running along the bank of the river this should be fairly obvious as you continue along the river. The entire loop is about 5 miles.

Rollerskiing:

Route 11

Not pleasant for rollerskiing!

Judson Street

This is a great out and back but requires going across Main Street and up Harrison or Church Street. At the end of Judson you can go right or left. Taking a left and then another left will circle you back to 310 just a mile or so north of Canton Village. If you take a right at the end of Judson this will head toward route 11 which you can cross and then take Ames road out to Crary Mills. Lots of options here.

Miner to Jingleville road

Miner street runs parallel to Park on the West side of the Athletics buildings and Appleton Arena. Take Miner south about 2 miles and then a right on Jingleville road. This is usually done out and back relatively short about 40 minutes maybe less.

Partridge Run Golf Course Loop

There is a 5K paved loop around the Golf Course on the North Side of town. To access we generally cross main street and take Harrison or Church to Judson then to Cleveland to get to State Street, essentially you want to get to the High School and there are a number of ways to do this. You head North past the High School toward 310 and you will see a sign for Partridge Run Golf course. You can go around this loop a few time and then leave it via Riverside drive or back the way you came. Riverside drive head out toward Morley which is not to bad either.
