Mathematica is a very powerful programming language created and maintained by Wolfram that I've used for over a decade to perform math and create plots. SLU does have a Mathematica license and it's available to all students, faculty, and staff. However powerful, the fact that it is proprietary and expensive means it's not the most useful tool for students to use. For those of you who use it, I will post pdf's of my Mathematica files. However, my goal is to create all the plots I use in this course with Python.
Python is an open source programming language that I am learning to replace Mathematica because Mathematica is so expensive. I use Jupyter Notebooks available through the Anaconda distribution. I suggest you download and install Anaconda on your computer and start learning Python along with me if you don't already use it.
